I decided to start this blog because of peer pressure.
I have what could be viewed as an irreverent perspective on motherhood. I started writing little stories and blurbs when my son was born in 2007. Along the way I’ve shared them with friends and family and finally decided to just go ahead and take the plunge into the world of blogging.
I hope I can provide a few laughs as I trip my way along the road of motherhood.
For the purposes of this blog, my son will go by L and my daughter will be S. My husband is T.
Oh, and I have to give a shout out to my friend Luke who told me I should write this stuff down, and call it “Motherhood, WTF?”
AWESOME! I just sat and read through everything on this site, even though there are literally 3 loads of unfolded cold laundry from yesterday on my bed waiting for me. I laughed so hard I had tears and stomach cramps…thank you. I stay at home with my three boys (7, 4 and 3) and can understand the appeal of alcoholism if there is such a thing. Love it!
I’m so glad you like the blog! Sorry if I contributed to chores piling up for you… Happy Mother’s Day!
I literally laughed out loud at the title alone…I love it and can relate being a single mother of 3; my Twin 16-year old Teenage boys are driving me crazy! I’ve heard the “you’ll get through it…its the ‘teenage years'” and “they’ll be fine, they’ll come around.” Right! They looked bewildered last night when I (in the midst of conversation) started doing Sun Salutations combined with Ujayii (deep “oceanic” diaphragmatic breathing) to get through the conversation/debate!!!!
Love your blog!! One Love, Ria
OMG this is the best!!! I am a stay @ home mom after 14 years working in the corporate world. Who the heck would have thought “I” would be THAT stay @ home mom??? ME!!! For me I can honestly say it was not an option, I unfortunately couldn’t continue to work because of a disability. OK so lets get back to being LAZY. I can totally relate to the piles of laundry in every aspect, clothes need to be washed pile, clothes need to be brought up from laundry room & of course laundry that needs to get folded and put away unless they’ve all been picked out by the time I get to it. This blog will keep me more busy LOL. Look forward to getting more acquainted with this blog.

I totally understand. Since I found blogging I have seriously been distracted from housework. I have three kids 10, 11, and 2 months.
I think you have nailed it down! Parenting is a blessing but believe me they do not come with instruction manuals. Who do you look towards for an example of great parenting? YOUR OWN parents? Sitcom parents? The Cosby’s, Cleaver’s…..or Rosanne Bar? OH! “Modern Family” *LOL* These are some of my favorite examples indeed! Have I mentioned the Bible says “it takes a village” and I am missing my village?! Thanks Allison for your blog. I am 47hr a week working mother of 3 energetic children; 15, 8 & 6! It seems everyone has a need to be somewhere at such and such time and please look at this and I am hungry. Who has that many hands or eyes to see and do it all?! Do you ever feel like taffy? With or without the laffy?!
P.S. I am hiding in my bedroom as I type and they are outside playing. Thank God for the warmer weather (anything above 50degrees and sunny) Maybe I can nap?! Here’s to another Adventurous New Year!
I love this blog. I believe I may have already posted this in a comment, but I am sending a link to all my mommy friends. I do not know if they will ever read my blog when they see how f**king hilarious yours is.
LOVE IT!!!!
Hi there,
I am much like you and started my blog because I got sick of hearing, “You should write a book!”
Well, book intimidated me for now as I am home with 4 kids but blog- eh- do-able. Kind of. LOL I feel guilty when days go by and funny thoughts slip through my mind but I never took the time to write them.
I am in the process of building exposure for the blog now and from what I have read and understand, I need to connect with similar writers and comment on their blogs and ask for reciprocation. I have very little readership now… looks like a few hundred each time i post but I can’t figure out how to get it out there- you know?
I am going to add you to my blog list and hope to hear from you too!

Love your blog. I work at an online toy store and the bosses kids fight all the TIME! Somebody sent us a Pocket Referee. You give it to one kid and when there is an argument – the losing kid gets the referee. They keep trading it back and forth, whoever gets the “short end of the stick” – got the pocket ref. I called the 2 kids over: girl 8 and boy 10. I explained the game and said, Who should get it first?” They fought for 10 minutes trying to allow the other a win, and in return get the referee! I am trying it anyway!
Laughed. Hysterically. And yes, you do make me feel better. And you’ll make my mom friends feel better too!
I really do love your blog. Whenever I read it I end up laughing so much that my hubby sometimes think I lost it. But when I’m done reading I feel like I’m in good company.
Thanks for the laughs Alison!! I can totally relate to your stories, which of course makes them all the more funny 🙂 Totally appreciate your humor and wit. I am a new member of TMB and have posted your blog on my website and blog under the category of “great websites/resources for Moms” because we all need a good giggle in our day, so “thanks” for providing it…I have lots of Mom friends who will appreciate it!

Your blog is hysterical! I laughed ’till I cried which was tricky with both kids sleeping. Thanks for laughs.
GREAT blog!! I don’t know one mom who can’t relate. Thank you for the laughs!
